Two life-changing circumstances Blake knew all too well was the foster care system and being diagnosed with cancer. According to the most recent report by Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children, Pennsylvania has 25,441 children in the foster care system. And a study that was completed in 2018 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that pediatric cancer rates are the highest in the Northeast, with Pennsylvania having the 6th highest rate in the country having 7,167 cases recorded in the last 10 years. These numbers change at a rapid rate, and the children impacted by these life-changing events are on an emotional roller-coaster. It is our goal to reach every child with the joy of a care package through Blake’s Box. That’s a huge goal, but we believe it is attainable through your help.
